Responses of Rice to Postemergence Treatments of Propanil

Weed Science, 1974
In a 3-year study propanil (3′,4′-dichloropropionanilide) at 6.7 or 9.0 kg/ha was applied postemergence as single or split applications to rice (Oryza sativaL. ‘Starbonnet’ and ‘Nova 66′) 15 to 75 days after crop emergence. The effect on crop injury, maturity, grain yield, and seed and milling quality was measured on rice grown in weed-free plots ...

Postemergence Yellow Nutsedge Management in Sweetpotato

Weed Technology, 2016
Field studies were conducted in 2013 at Houlka, MS and in 2014 at Houston, MS to evaluate herbicide programs for yellow nutsedge control and sweetpotato crop response. Treatments consisted of halosulfuron-methyl at 13, 26, and 34 g ai ha−1 2 wk after transplanting (WAP) followed by (fb) S-metolachlor at 856 g ai ha−1 4 WAP; a sequential application of ...

Tolerance of Seedling Bermudagrass to Postemergence Herbicides

Crop Science, 2004
The introduction of improved seeded cultivars of bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] has generated significant interest from the turfgrass industry. An important component of successfully establishing these new cultivars will be to develop effective weed control strategies for the critical establishment period.

Utilization of sophorolipids as biosurfactants for postemergence herbicides

Crop Protection, 2014
Sophorolipids are carbohydrate-based, amphiphilic biosurfactants produced by several species of the Starmerella yeast clade. Most sophorolipids are partially acetylated sophorose sugars O-β-glycosidically linked to 17-L-hydroxy-Δ9-octadecenoic acid, where typically the acyl carboxyl group forms a 4″-lactone to the terminal glucosyl residue.

Sweetpotato Tolerance to Halosulfuron Applied Postemergence

Weed Technology, 2007
Studies were conducted in 2003 and 2004 to determine the effect of application timing and halosulfuron rate on sweetpotato yield and quality. Halosulfuron was applied 1, 2, and 4 wks after transplanting (WAP) sweetpotato in 2003, and 2, 3, and 4 WAP in 2004.

Sweetpotato Tolerance to Thifensulfuron Applied Postemergence

Weed Technology, 2007
An experiment was conducted at two locations in 2003 and 2004 to determine the timing and rate of thifensulfuron that is safe to use on sweetpotato. Thifensulfuron was applied 1, 2, and 4 wk after transplanting (WAP) in 2003 and 4, 6, and 8 WAP in 2004.

Compatibility of Diclosulam with Postemergence Herbicides and Fungicides

Weed Technology, 2007
Diclosulam is registered for residual and postemergence control of several broadleaf weeds and suppression of annual sedges in peanut in the southeastern United States. Many producers apply herbicides and other pesticides simultaneously to increase the spectrum of pest control or to increase efficiency of operations.

Carinata Tolerance to Preemergence and Postemergence Herbicides

Weed Technology, 2017
Carinata is a new biofuel crop that was recently introduced in the southeastern USA as a winter crop. This crop is competitive after canopy closure, but there is a need for weed control options at earlier growth stages. Field experiments were conducted from 2014 to 2016 to determine the safety of several PRE and POST herbicides in carinata ...
