To compare NIHSS scoring system for outcome in anterior and posterior circulation stroke
Background: The arterial territory affected in the stroke significantly affects the prognosis and outcome. National institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) score widely used significantly differs between anterior and posterior circulation stroke ...

Proportions, trends, and outcomes of posterior circulation ischemic stroke in the United States
BackgroundPosterior circulation ischemic stroke has been previously studied in single-center and multicenter registries. The contemporary proportions, trends, and outcomes of posterior circulation ischemic stroke at a national level are not known ...

Posterior circulation ischaemic stroke diagnosis and management
This narrative review provides an overview of the posterior circulation and the clinical features of common posterior circulation stroke (PCS) syndromes in the posterior arterial territories and how to distinguish them from mimics. We outline the hyperacute management of patients with suspected PCS with emphasis on how to identify those who are likely ...

Outcome of mechanical thrombectomy in hyperacute posterior circulation ischemic stroke [PDF]
Background: While mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is an established intervention for anterior circulation strokes, its efficacy in posterior circulation large vessel occlusion (LVO) remains unclear.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

ABSTRACT Objective Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) before thrombectomy for ischemic stroke may alter clot structure and procedural performance. We investigated how IVT relates to thrombectomy metrics across stroke etiologies. Methods We performed a time‐to‐event analysis of consecutive patients with anterior circulation large vessel occlusion (acLVO ...
