Intelligent Orthopedics: Machine Learning in Diagnosis of Bone Disease, Implants, and Bone Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Efficient recovery from traumatic or degenerative diseases is a great challenge, even after all the advancements in bone and cartilage regeneration. Machine learning (ML) algorithms have presented opportunities to enhance these aspects by accurately analyzing imaging data.

Acquired Hemophilia Developing After Whipple Operation

open access: yesActa Haematologica Oncologica Turcica
Acquired hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare bleeding disorder. It is caused by autoantibodies produced against endogenous coagulation factors, without a family history of hemophilia. The incidence has been reported as 1.4 per million.

Kidney dysfunction in the postoperative period [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Anaesthesia, 2005
The development of perioperative acute renal failure is associated with a high incidence of morbidity and mortality. Although this incidence varies with different surgical procedures and with the definition used for renal failure, we now understand better the aetiology of the underlying problem.

THE POSTOPERATIVE AND CONVALESCENT PERIOD OF PROSTATECTOMY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association, 1917
For some years past, the importance of preoperative preparation of a patient to be subjected to prostatectomy has been well recognized. Few surgeons at present will operate until the functional capacity of the kidneys has been tested, and if found markedly deficient, attempt has been made to stimulate renal excretion to at least an approximation of the

Conjugated Porphyrin Polymer With Superior Charge Transfer for Photodynamic‐Immunomodulatory Prevention of CIED Infection in Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

Maskless Fabrication of PLA‐Based Neural Arrays for CNS Recording and Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Biodegradable neural interfaces enable bidirectional communication with the CNS. Through electrochemical characterization, ageing tests with impedance monitoring, and in vivo validation, we assess the performance of PLA‐based epicortical and spinal implants.

Cation‐π Interaction‐Based Biointerface for Low‐Cost PD‐1 Detection Toward NSCLC Immunotherapy Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A cation‐π interaction‐based biointerface is engineered on a CNT‐FET for label‐free detection of PD‐1. PD‐1 monoclonal antibodies are orientedly immobilized via cation‐π interactions between PCz‐wrapped semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes and the Fc region of the monoclonal antibody.
