Postural sway in children: A literature review [PDF]
Static posturography can serve as an easy and fast way to determine whether a child possesses sufficient balance control in different sensory conditions. Therefore, the aim of this review is to map age-related differences in postural sway during childhood in typically developing children, using static posturography and to provide an overview of the ...

Bioinspired Adaptive Leg‐Claw Enables Robust Perching and Grasping for UAVs
Inspired by owl limb morphology and bat roosting behavior, this study presents a bioinspired adaptive leg‐claw mechanism that enables UAVs to perform robust and versatile perching and grasping. The design integrates a four‐link tibial structure, tension‐driven deformable feet, and active control, enabling stable perching on various branches and ...

Sensorimotor processing for balance in spinocerebellar ataxia type 6. [PDF]
We investigated whether balance impairments caused by cerebellar disease are associated with specific sensorimotor processing deficits that generalize across all sensory modalities.

MGDP: Mastering a Generalized Depth Perception Model for Quadruped Locomotion
ABSTRACT Perception‐based Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) controllers demonstrate impressive performance on challenging terrains. However, existing controllers still face core limitations, struggling to achieve both terrain generality and platform transferability, and are constrained by high computational overhead and sensitivity to sensor noise.

The Rim and the Ancient Mariner: The Nautical Horizon Affects Postural Sway in Older Adults. [PDF]
On land, the spatial magnitude of postural sway (i.e., the amount of sway) tends to be greater when participants look at the horizon than when they look at nearby targets.

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.
