The effect of seed priming on yield and germination properties of quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd)
Seed priming is a widely used pre-germination technique that enhances sprouting efficiency, synchrony, and the initial development of plantlets, particularly under suboptimal environmental conditions.

Technical pre-analytical effects on the clinical biochemistry of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) [PDF]
Clinical biochemistry has long been utilized in human and veterinary medicine as a vital diagnostic tool, but despite occasional studies showing its usefulness in monitoring health status in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.), it has not yet been widely ...

Robust Polymer Hydrogels Improve Electric‐Fish‐Inspired Batteries
ABSTRACT Electric‐fish‐inspired hydrogel batteries based on ion‐concentration gradients offer an attractive route to soft power sources; however, the poor mechanical properties of existing hydrogels limit device assembly and performance. Here, we report poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate hydrogels that enable ion‐gradient batteries composed of

The strength of single crystals of inorganic salts under high pressure, III [PDF]
Based on the results of the plastic deformation of five alkali halide single crystals shown in Part II of this series the values of the distance L over which a dislocation can be propagated in the crystal given in Taylor's equation were calculated.

Microbial metal resistance and metabolism across dynamic landscapes: high-throughput environmental microbiology. [PDF]
Multidimensional gradients of inorganic compounds influence microbial activity in diverse pristine and anthropogenically perturbed environments. Here, we suggest that high-throughput cultivation and genetics can be systematically applied to generate ...

Terminal domains of recombinant collagen‐like silk regulate hierarchical self‐assembly across molecular and material scales. We show that terminal domains of collagen‐like silk enhance triple‐helix stability and drive liquid–liquid phase separation, enabling reversible formation of fibers and self‐healing films.

A personal historic perspective on the role of chloride in skeletal and cardiac muscle [PDF]
During the early decades of the last century, skeletal muscle was held to be impermeable to chloride ions. This theory, based on shaky grounds, was famously falsified by Boyle and Conway in 1941.
