Development and testing of dry chemicals in advanced extinguishing systems for jet engine nacelle fires [PDF]

open access: yes
The effectiveness of dry chemical in extinguishing and delaying reignition of fires resulting from hydrocarbon fuel leaking onto heated surfaces such as can occur in jet engine nacelles is studied. The commercial fire extinguishant dry chemical tried are

Hyperlipidemia Aggravates Alveolar Bone Loss via Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Ferroptosis Through GSK3β Dependent Ubiquitin‐Mediated NRF2 Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lipid metabolic stress triggers ferroptosis in PDLSCs through the GSK3β/NRF2 pathway, thereby aggravating periodontal bone loss. Upregulated GSK3β promotes NRF2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation via β‐TrCP, suppressing NRF2 nuclear translocation and antioxidant target expression.

Activation and regioselectivity of five-membered cyclic thionocarbamates to nucleophilic attack [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cyclic thionocarbamate of alaninol undergoes nucleophilic attack by sulfur nucleophiles at 5-C to give 1-thiopropyl-2-amine derivatives when derivatised on nitrogen with a Boc group.

Spatially Separated Redox Centers in One‐Dimensional Sp2‐Carbon Covalent Organic Frameworks Enable Synergistic Photocatalytic Palladium Recovery and Bisphenol A Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A one‐dimensional sp2‐carbon covalent organic framework with spatially segregated redox centers integrates a dual photosensitizing system and a cationic interface for synergistic photocatalysis. The material achieves exceptional palladium recovery (1749 mg g−1) and bisphenol A mineralization (0.1710 min−1) without sacrificial agents, demonstrating ...

Iterative Synthesis of Pentacene Derivatives with Continuous Boron–Oxygen Bonds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An iterative synthetic strategy enables the controlled introduction of continuous multiple B–O bonds at the zigzag edge of acenes. A simple two‐step cycle—ipso iodination and Suzuki cross‐coupling/condensation—efficiently constructs BO‐acenes ranging from naphthalene to pentacene.

Iodine value in pregravidal period of a woman’s life [PDF]

open access: yesГинекология, 2014
Iodine is an essential trace element, which is essential for the formation and development of a complete organism. Attempts to eliminate iodine deficiency are reduced to mass prevention by iodination of certain foods, but it is not possible to prevent ...

Electronic structure and charge distribution of potassium iodide intercalated single-walled carbon nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Recently, potassium iodide was inserted into single-walled carbon nanotubes. We present here a first-principles density-functional theory calculation of the electronic and optical properties of a potassium iodide intercalated (10,10) nanotube.
