A case series and review of sporotrichosis in Sikkim

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries, 2011
Sporotrichosis caused by the fungus Sporothrix schenckii has been widely reported from the northern Himalayan belt and the north eastern region of India. Three autochthonous cases of lymphocutaneous sporotrichosis from east and south districts of Sikkim

Determination of iodide in potassium iodide dosage tablets using cathodic stripping voltammetry with a carbon paste electrode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A method for the determination of iodide in potassium iodide-containing pharmaceutical formulas is presented. Special attention has been paid to the effect of thiosulphate used as the stabiliser of solid iodide.

A Virus‐Inducible E3–RLCK–MADS Module Coordinates Suppression of Plant Immunity and Fertility in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Viruses often hijack host developmental programs to promote infection, but the mechanistic links between reproductive regulation and antiviral immunity remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify a virus‐triggered hierarchical degradation cascade that links antiviral immunity and fertility regulation in rice. We show that the rice grassy

Clinical evaluation of diamine silver fluoride/potassium iodide as a dentine desensitizing agent: a pilot study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
BACKGROUND: The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy of an experimental diamine silver fluoride/potassium iodide product with an oxalic acid-based preparation in reducing dentine hypersensitivity.

Master Regulator SMC1A, Stabilized by N6‐Methyladenosine Reader IGF2BP1, Promotes HCC Progression Through Facilitating Enhancer–Promoter Interaction of Nestin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IGF2BP1‐mediated m6A stabilization sustains SMC1A expression, enabling cohesin‐associated chromatin regulation of Nestin in hepatocellular carcinoma. This work reveals an epitranscriptomic‐chromatin‐cytoskeletal regulatory axis linked to malignant phenotypes and identifies SMC1A as a biologically relevant vulnerability in HCC.

A Plug‐and‐Play Platform for Customizing Multivalent Degraders and Degrader‐Drug Conjugates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Membrane proteins remain challenging targets for conventional TPD approaches. Here, the authors develop UPTAB, a modular platform leveraging ultrahigh‐affinity orthogonal Im/CL protein pairs for lysosomal degradation of membrane proteins. Mono‐targeted (Type‐I), dual‐targeted (Type‐II), and tri‐targeted (Type‐III) UPTABs enable simultaneous degradation

An unusual presentation of sporotrichosis

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2013
Sporotrichosis can mimic a few diseases. Sporotrichosis presenting as a hypoaesthetic plaque or plaque suggestive of leprosy has not been mentioned in literature.

Flexoelectricity in Photoconversion: Fundamentals, Materials, and Outlooks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical bending of a flexible cantilever induces a strain gradient in the photoactive material. The resulting flexoelectric field couples with photovoltaic and photoconductive effects, modulating charge generation, separation, and collection. A comparative analysis of oxide perovskites, halide perovskites, and two‐dimensional materials is presented,

PAROTID SECRETION OF IODIDE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1956
Parotid juice from normal human subjects was collected by means of suction cups over the parotid papillae. The iodide content of the secretion was determined at various flow rates with and without the oral administration of potassium iodide, ammonium ...

Surface Fermi Level Modulation of Photoanode by Optimized Conducting Nanoparticle Heterointerfaces for Enhanced Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Optimizing the heterointerface coverage of the conducting Ni2P nanoparticles on the surface of BVO photoanode manipulates the surface Fermi‐level modulation, which significantly enhances photoelectrochemical oxygen evolution reaction. Our multiscale simulations and experimental results reveal that an optimal Ni2P coverage of 9.4% pins the surface Fermi
