Viscosity of molten potassium nitrate

High Temperatures-High Pressures, 2001
Potassium nitrate (KNO 3 ) has been suggested as a standard material for the viscosity of molten salts, under moderate to high temperatures. A recently developed oscillating-cup viscometer has been tested up to 760 K, by measuring the viscosity of molten KNO 3 at atmospheric pressure. A detailed analysis of the uncertainty of the measurements, and the

Coagulation of silver halide sols by thorium nitrate in the presence of potassium nitrate and potassium sulfate

Kolloid-Zeitschrift, 1960
When silver iodide, silver bromide and silver chloride solsin statu nascendi are coagulated by thorium nitrate in the presence of potassium nitrate, three coagulation maxima appear. Two of them are identical with maxima that are found in absence of KNO3, denoted with (II) and (IV) in fig. 1.

Potassium nitrate toothpaste for dentine hypersensitivity

2000
Dentine hypersensitivity may be defined as the pain arising from exposed dentine, typically in response to external stimuli, and which cannot be explained by any other form of dental disease. Many treatment regimes have been recommended over the years, and in recent years particular attention has been focused on toothpastes containing potassium nitrate.

SQM will boost potassium nitrate

C&EN Global Enterprise, 2016
SQM will increase its potassium nitrate capacity by 50% to 1.5 million metric tons per year by mid-2018. The Chilean firm says it will build a 300,000-metric-ton-per-year plant in Pedro de Valdivia, Chile, that will react potassium and nitrate salts. The balance of the capacity increase will come from expansion of existing facilities.

Thermal expansion of potassium nitrate

Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences - Section A, 1955
The principal coefficients of expansion have been determined for the orthorhombic crystal potassium nitrate for the range of temperature 30 to 100° C. by an X-ray method. The values are α11(b) = 22.0; α22(a) = 23.5; α33(c) = 182.6 × 10−6. The direction of the greatest expansion is perpendicular to the plane of the O3 group and the expansion is nearly ...
