Effects of Seedborne Potato Leafroll Virus on Russet Norkotah Potato [PDF]
Tuber yield and quality of cv. Russet Norkotah potato plants grown from seed infected with potato leaf roll virus (PLRV) were compared with tuber yield and quality of adjacent plants grown from virus-free seed. Plants from PLRV-infected seed produced at least 60% less total yield and 88% less marketable yield (tubers >85 g) than plants grown from ...

Sugarcane Small Heat Shock Proteins Facilitate Sugarcane Mosaic Virus Replication via Interaction With the Movement Protein P3N-PIPO. [PDF]
SCMV targets small heat shock proteins (ScHSP17.5 and ScHSP17.9A) via P3N‐PIPO to evade sugarcane immunity and enhance replication, revealing key host–virus interactions for breeding strategies. ABSTRACT Sugarcane mosaic virus (SCMV) causes substantial yield losses worldwide, yet the molecular basis underlying resistance and susceptibility in sugarcane

Reduced Field Spread of Potato Leafroll Virus in Potatoes Transformed with the Potato Leafroll Virus Coat Protein Gene [PDF]
Russet Burbank potato was transformed with plant expression vectors containing the potato leafroll luteovirus (PLRV) coat protein (CP) gene. Transgenic potato lines contained a gene expression cassette with two copies of a PLRV CP gene in which the nucleotide sequence was modified to improve expression of the gene.
