Halogenation and Anesthetic Potency

Survey of Anesthesiology, 1989
Previous studies have shown that the anesthetic potency of organic compounds increases as a given halogen is replaced with successively larger halogens. These studies often are limited in the accuracy of determination of potency, rarely correlate potency with physical properties, and usually fail to include ether compounds.

Glucocorticoid potency and parachor

Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1976
Abstract The potencies of some glucocorticoids by several assay methods show some interesting correlations with their parachors. Parachor is an additive and constitutive property of a molecule and is related to the molar volume and the surface tension.

Potency and pharmacokinetics of gestagens

Contraception, 1990
Serum concentrations of gestagens were compared after single doses and after multiple doses (steady-state conditions) of four widely used oral contraceptives containing norethisterone (NET), levonorgestrel (LNG), desogestrel (DSG) and gestodene (GSD). There were marked differences among the gestagens with respect to the serum concentrations.

Potencies

2003
Abstract Plants that agree in genus (165) also agree in effective properties: those that are included in one natural order also approximate to each other in effective properties; and those that are of the same natural class are also to some extent of the same potencies.

Radioprotective Potency of Nanoceria

Current Radiopharmaceuticals
Abstract: Cancer presents a significant medical challenge that requires effective management. Current cancer treatment options, such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy, have limitations in terms of their efficacy and the potential harm they can cause to normal tissues.

[Neuroleptic potency of bromperidol].

International pharmacopsychiatry, 1978
The following statements can be made on the basis of our study. 1. The butyrophenone bromperidol is an absolutely effective drug of the series of very high-potency neuroleptics, with a mean neuroleptic threshold dose of 5.6 mg/day. The mean optimum dose is 6 mg/day, and the mean maximum dose reaches 11 mg/day, i.e. twice the neuroleptic threshold dose.
