Induction of Bleb Structures in Lipid Nanoparticle Formulations of mRNA Leads to Improved Transfection Potency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 2023
The transfection potency of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) mRNA systems is critically dependent on the ionizable cationic lipid component. LNP mRNA systems composed of optimized ionizable lipids often display distinctive mRNA‐rich “bleb” structures.

Single-cell entropy for accurate estimation of differentiation potency from a cell’s transcriptome

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
The ability to quantify differentiation potential of single cells is a task of critical importance. Here we demonstrate, using over 7,000 single-cell RNA-Seq profiles, that differentiation potency of a single cell can be approximated by computing the ...

Risk Assessment of Per‐ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substance Mixtures: A Relative Potency Factor Approach

Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, 2020
Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) often occur together as contamination in exposure media such as drinking water or food. The relative potency factor (RPF) methodology facilitates the risk assessment of mixture exposure.

Potency and Prostatectomy

British Journal of Urology, 1977
A prospective questionnaire study with a 6-month follow-up was carried out to determine the incidence of post-prostatectomy impotence. 57% of patients were potent at the time of operation. A man with full potency had a 4% chance of becoming totally impotent and a 3% chance of becoming partially impotent. A man with failing preoperative potency had a 10%

Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells: Regenerative Potency in Periodontium

Stem Cells and Development, 2019
Periodontium is consisted of root cementum, bone lining the tooth socket, gingiva facing the tooth, and periodontal ligament (PDL). Its primary functions are support of the tooth and protection of tooth, nerve, and blood vessels from injury by mechanical

An Index of Tumorigenic Potency

Biometrics, 1993
A new index of tumorigenic potency is derived using a survival-adjusted quantal response estimator given by Bailer and Portier (1988, Biometrics 44, 417-431). The small-sample bias and mean squared error properties of this estimator are explored using computer simulations of animal carcinogenicity experiments and are compared to the characteristics of ...

Potency in Psychotherapy

Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, 1976
This paper defines therapeutic potency in terms of constructive as opposed to destructive intervention. In judging the degree of success in psychotherapy we may use either a medical or a growth model. Whichever criterion is adopted the conclusion stands that potency will be at a maximum whenever the therapist selects the most efficient technique for ...
