COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Some perspectives on modelling the effect of temperature on the erosion-corrosion of Fe in aqueous conditions

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, a model is generated of the effect of temperature on the erosion-corrosion of Fe in aqueous conditions, for room temperature to 373K. The results indicate how the transition from active to passivation dominated regimes for Fe are favoured ...

Monitoring changes in skin temperature associated with exercise in horses on a water treadmill by use of infrared thermography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Infrared thermography (IRT) was used to assess surface temperature change as an indirect measure of muscle activity and exercise associated changes in blood flow in the working hind limb muscles of horses (n¼7) undergoing water tread mill exercise. Three

The Nonlinear Optical Properties of Self-Assembled InAs/GaAs Quantum Dot: Effect of Hydrostatic Pressure and Temperature

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
In this study, we have investigated the effects of temperature (T) and hydrostatic pressure (P) on both the nonlinear and linear optical properties of an InAs/GaAs core/shell quantum dot (QD) system with a Screened-Modified Kratzer potential (SMKP).

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Dimorphic cypsela germination and plant growth in Synedrella nodiflora (L.) Gaertn. (Asteraceae)

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology
Synedrella nodiflora is a weed species that has dimorphic cypselas: winged peripheral and lanceolate shaped central. The aim of this work is to describe the reproductive capability by measuring dimorphic cypselas morphology, imbibition rates and ...
