The Housing Forms and Urban Morphology of Poverty Areas in the London Borough of Islington

open access: yes, 2007
This research compares the urban morphology and house forms of three areas in the London Borough of Islington. It assesses their level of poverty and compares them with Charles Booth’s survey of the London poor at the end of the 19th Century.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

REGIONAL POVERTY IN MICHIGAN: RURAL AND URBAN DIFFERENCE

open access: yes
This paper examines the relationship between the quality of local labor force and variation in regional poverty outcomes among Michigan areas. A regional poverty model is derived from the household production model for that purpose.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Nutritional poverty trend in children of urban and rural areas in Kerman province: Cohort approach (1984-2012)

open access: yesThe Journal of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences, 2015
Background: Nutrition and access to it are important aspects of poverty analysis in multidimensional perspective. Measurement of nutritional poverty indices is important to inform policy makers about distributive effects of policy strategies on household
