Temperature distribution in powder beds during 3D printing
Rapid Prototyping Journal, 2010PurposeThis purpose of this paper is to report about the temperature distribution in metal and ceramic powder beds during 3D printing. The differing powders are thoroughly characterized in terms of thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, emissivity spectra and density.Design/methodology/approachThe temperature distribution was measured in a 3D ...

The benefits of additive manufacturing (AM) are widely recognised, boosting the AM method’s use in industry, while it is predicted AM will dominate the global manufacturing industry. Alas, 3D printing’s growth is hindered by its sustainability.

3D printing of titanium parts from titanium hydride powder by solvent jetting on granule beds
International Journal of Refractory Metals and Hard Materials, 2020Abstract Titanium parts are produced by the “Solvent on granules 3D-Printing” technique (SG-3DP). Angular Titanium Hydride powders are used. A special purpose table-top machine, designed and built in a previous development, is used to print green parts, which are subsequently debinded, dehydrided and sintered in a muffle furnace.
