Analysis of rheological behaviour of titanium feedstocks formulated with a water-soluble binder system for powder injection moulding

open access: yes, 2014
Binder selection and formulation are critical in powder injection moulding. Binders play a key role in controlling the rheological properties of a feedstock and influence whether the resulting feedstock can be successfully injection moulded, debound and ...

Inhalation characteristics of asthma patients, COPD patients and healthy volunteers with the Spiromax® and Turbuhaler® devices: a randomised, cross-over study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND: Spiromax® is a novel dry-powder inhaler containing formulations of budesonide plus formoterol (BF). The device is intended to provide dose equivalence with enhanced user-friendliness compared to BF Turbuhaler® in asthma and chronic ...

Numerical and Experimental Investigation of the Morphology Development of Expansion Clouds by a Powder Jet Flow

open access: yes, 2004
Explosion suppression is often the preferred method of explosion attenuation in industry. The morphology development of suppression clouds is important for the design of necessary coverage of the product.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

The Inhalation Characteristics of Patients When They Use Different Dry Powder Inhalers

open access: yes, 2015
Background: The characteristics of each inhalation maneuver when patients use dry powder inhalers (DPIs) are important, because they control the quality of the emitted dose.

Simulation and experimental research based on carrier gas flow rate on the influence of four-channel coaxial nozzle flow field

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2020
This paper investigates the influence of carrier gas flow on the external flow field of coaxial powder feeding nozzle. FLUENT software was adopted to establish gas-solid two-phase flow.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Powder-flow behavior and process mechanism in laser directed energy deposition based on determined restitution coefficient from inverse modeling

open access: yes, 2022
In order to clarify the transportation mechanism of particles in continuous coaxial powder feeding (CCPF) process, a trial-and-matching method is developed to quantify the restitution coefficient which is used to describe the inelastic collision between ...

Comprehensive Characterization of 98 Chinese Cases of Genetic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob Disease With T188K Mutation

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize the demographic, clinical, and laboratory features of the Chinese patients of genetic Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease with T188K variant (T188K‐gCJD), the most common subtype of genetic prion diseases (gPrDs) in China. Methods In this nationwide retrospective study, data from 98 genetically confirmed T188K‐gCJD patients ...

Time-Dependent Rheological Behavior of Surface-Coated Calcite Powder: Implications for Industrial Applications

open access: yesCrystals
In this study, the effects of stearic acid coating concentration (0.85%, 1%, and 1.15% wt.) and storage duration (up to 30 days) on the flow properties of surface-modified micronized calcite powder were investigated to evaluate their implications for ...
