Investigation of Microscopic Nonmetallic Inclusions in Powder Metallurgical High‐Speed Steels

Methods for inclusion analysis are evaluated for suitability. Various powder metallurgical steels in different processing states are characterized. SEM/EDS data are further analyzed using analytical and statistical approaches. A thermodynamic method for determining inclusion phase composition is tested.

Biocarbon Suitability Evaluation for Direct Injection in Blast Furnace Ironmaking

This study examines densified biocarbon for direct injection in blast furnace ironmaking to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG). Enhanced burnout performance, along with favorable reactivity and carbon structure of the combustion residue, supports its suitability for blast furnace injection. BaIr2Si9: A Hybrid Structure Bridging Sodalite, Clathrate, and Skutterudite Patterns

BaIr2Si9 is a p‐type semiconductor combining structural features of the solalithe, clathrate, and skutterudite type of structure.
