Fabrication of Porous Sintered Body using Shape-Controled 316l Stainless Steel Powder by High-Energy Ball Milling [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials
In this study, 316L stainless steel powder was used to produce a porous body that could be used in a specific environment. In contrast to the existing method of producing filters using only spherical powders, we attempted to produce filters using plate ...

Effect of Particle Shape on the Mixing of Powders

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1990
AbstractMixtures were prepared containing 200 g of 600 μm lactose and 0.5 g of 3 μm calcium carbonate of different particle shapes using a Y cone mixer. Measurements were made of the time required to achieve the acceptable standard deviation of mixing σA and of the segregation that occurred on subsequently vibrating the mixtures.

The effect of particle shape on powder properties

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, 1969
Abstract Sand in the size ranges 18–20 mesh, 30–36 mesh and 44–60 mesh has been separated by means of a vibratory shape-sorting table into fractions of different shape. The ratios of the surface area of the particles to their volumes-the shape coefficients-ranged from 8 to 15.
