Existence for the steady problem of a mixture of two power-law fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The steady problem resulting from a mixture of two distinct fluids of power-law type is analyzed in this work. Mathematically, the problem results from the superposition of two power laws, one for a constant power-law index with other for a variable one.

High energy power-law tail in X-ray binaries and bulk Comptonization due to a outflow from a disk

open access: yes, 2018
We study the high energy power-law tail emission of X-ray binaries (XRBs) by a bulk Comptonization process which usually observe in the very high soft VHS state of blackhole BH XRBs and the high soft HS state of neutron star (NS) and BH XRBs. Earlier, to

Two‐Dimensional Materials as a Multiproperty Sensing Platform

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Various sensing modalities enabled and/or enhanced by two‐dimensional (2D) materials are reviewed. The domains considered for sensing include: 1) optoelectronics, 2) quantum defects, 3) scanning probe microscopy, 4) nanomechanics, and 5) bio‐ and chemosensing.

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...

Low-cost rolling ball viscometer for the evaluation of Newtonian and shear-thinning fluids

open access: yesApplied Rheology
This article describes the design and testing of a low-cost automatic rolling-ball viscometer. The device has been manufactured from three-dimensional printed parts and conventional and affordable mechanical and electronic components. It is controlled by

Stochastic power law fluids: Existence and uniqueness of weak solutions

open access: yes, 2012
We consider a stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) which describes the velocity field of a viscous, incompressible non-Newtonian fluid subject to a random force. Here the extra stress tensor of the fluid is given by a polynomial of degree $p-1$
