Corner Flow of Power Law Fluids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Rheology, 1989
A local analysis of the flow of power law fluids near corners is performed. The equation for the stream function is shown to allow separated solutions in plane polar coordinates. The radial behavior is shown to be algebraic and results are given for the exponent for different values of corner angle and power law exponent.

Existence Theory for Stochastic Power Law Fluids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Fluid Mechanics, 2015
We consider the equations of motion for an incompressible Non-Newtonian fluid in a bounded Lipschitz domain $G\subset\mathbb R^d$ during the time intervall $(0,T)$ together with a stochastic perturbation driven by a Brownian motion $W$. The balance of momentum reads as $$dv=\mathrm{div}\, S\,dt-(\nabla v)v\,dt+\nablaπ\,dt+f\,dt+Φ(v)\,dW_t,$$ where $v ...

The Parametric Study of Electroosmotically Driven Flow of Power-Law Fluid in a Cylindrical Microcapillary at High Zeta Potential

open access: yesMicromachines, 2017
Due to the increasingly wide application of electroosmotic flow in micromachines, this paper investigates the electroosmotic flow of the power-law fluid under high zeta potential in a cylindrical microcapillary for different dimensionless parameters. The

Slip Backflow of Polymers in Elastic Fractures for Subsurface Heat Recovery

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
This research delves into the complexities of backflow phenomena in finite-length and flat-walled fractures with elastic walls, specifically focusing on power-law fluids, whose shear-thinning behavior distinguishes them from Newtonian fluids.

DRAG FORCE OF TWO SPHERES IN POWER LAW FLUIDS

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2010
The present research is concerned with studying of the drag force on two spheres moving side by side and in line in non-Newtonian liquid. Polyacryamide (PAA) solution with different concentrations (0.01, 0.03, 0.05 and 0.07)% by weight and water is used

A review of implicit algebraic constitutive relations for describing the response of nonlinear fluids

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mécanique, 2023
We review the class of implicit algebraic constitutive relations for fluids which includes in its ambit those whose material properties depend on the invariants of the stress, the symmetric part of the velocity gradient, as well as their mixed invariants.

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

Memory and Resting‐State Connectivity in Acute Transient Global Amnesia: A Case–Control fMRI Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a striking model of isolated amnesia. While hippocampal lesions are well described, the network‐level mechanisms and the precise neuropsychological profile remain debated. Our objective was thus to characterize functional and neuropsychological correlates of acute TGA and their ...

Power-Law Fluid Flow in Coiled Tubing and Pressure Drop Influence Factors Analysis

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2020
Power-law fluids are non-Newtonian fluids that are widely used in the field of petroleum engineering. To study the complex flow conditions and pressure drop changes in spiral sections of coiled tubing, the flow of power-law fluids in spiral tubing was ...
