From Geometry to Function: Programmable Mechanical Response in 3D‐Printed Adipose‐Inspired Soft Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven design of soft cellular metamaterials is systematically investigated by combining experiments, finite element modeling, and statistical prediction. The study quantifies how unit cell geometry and material properties govern stiffness, instability, densification, and energy absorption.

Development of the Couple Stress Relationships for the Power Law Fluid and the Solution of Flow in Ceramic Tape Casting Process

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2018
The absence of characteristic material length in the Navier-Stokes equations has led to the development of different couple stress theories. In the present study, for the first time, the relations of a couple stress theory are extended to power-law ...

Nanodiamond Sensing in Dynamic Environments With Fast‐Tracking Through Four‐Point Positioning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A four‐point positioning tracking (4PPT) platform enables fast 3D feedback translational tracking of fluorescent nanodiamonds while simultaneously recording ODMR spectra. By integrating real‐time translational tracking with quantum sensing, mobile nanodiamonds are used for in‐situ nanothermometry, nanorheometry, and 6D translation–rotation tracking in ...

Determination of Rheological Parameters from Measurements on a Viscometer with Coaxial Cylinders

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2006
The paper deals with measurements of non-Newtonian fluids on a viscometer with coaxial cylinders. The procedure for determining the rheological model parameters is recommended  for power-law fluids and Bingham plastics.

Molecular Rotors: From Newtonian Fluids to Functional Materials as Viscosity and Temperature Sensing Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular rotors are fluorescent molecules that are sensitive to viscosity and temperature variations in the environment. They exhibit a direct correlation between fluorescence and viscosity within Newtonian fluids. However, this correlation becomes less straightforward in complex systems.

Semi-Analytical Modelling of Evaporating Power-Law Thin Films in Inclined Micro-Channels

open access: yesFluids
The evaporation of a thin liquid film representative of power-law rheology flowing along an inclined channel wall under the combined influence of gravity and surface tension is investigated using a semi-analytical modelling framework.

Simulation of Lubricated Squeezing Flow of a Herschel-Bulkley Fluid Under Constant Force

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2000
Lubricated squeezing flow (LSF) of a Herschel-Bulkley fluid between parallel disks under constant force was theoretically analyzed. An analytical expression for the fluid thickness as a function of time was obtained in terms of a hypergeometric function.

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...
