Power in Liquid Democracy

open access: yesProceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2021
The paper develops a theory of power for delegable proxy voting systems. We define a power index able to measure the influence of both voters and delegators. Using this index, which we characterize axiomatically, we extend an earlier game-theoretic model by incorporating power-seeking behavior by agents.

Downsizing Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production with Additive Manufacturing—An Experimental Study on a 3D printed Reactor for Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) are needed in large quantities to reduce the negative impact of flying on the climate. So-called power-to-liquid (PtL) plants can produce SAF from renewable electricity, water, and carbon dioxide.

Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis as the Key for Decentralized Sustainable Kerosene Production

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Synthetic fuels play an important role in the defossilization of future aviation transport. To reduce the ecological impact of remote airports due to the long-range transportation of kerosene, decentralized on-site production of synthetic paraffinic ...

An Overview of Promising Alternative Fuels for Road, Rail, Air, and Inland Waterway Transport in Germany

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
To solve the challenge of decarbonizing the transport sector, a broad variety of alternative fuels based on different concepts, including Power-to-Gas and Power-to-Liquid, and propulsion systems, have been developed.

The resistivity and thermoelectric power of liquid antimony [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine B, 1980
The resistivity ? and the thermoelectric power S of liquid antimony have been measured as a function of temperature. The experimental data are compared with theoretical predictions based on the use of single-site t-matrix within a nearly-free-electron framwork. These and other similar calculations show that both ?and d?/dT are strongly dependent on the

Techno-Economic Analysis of a Flexible Process Concept for the Production of Transport Fuels and Heat from Biomass and Renewable Electricity

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2021
Different processes have been proposed to meet the global need for renewable fuel. The Biomass to Liquid process (BtL) converts biomass via the Fischer-Tropsch route to hydrocarbon chains that can be refined to transport fuel.
