Adaptive subcarrier allocation, power control, and power allocation for multiuser FDD-DMT systems

2004 IEEE International Conference on Communications (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37577), 2004
This paper considers the problem of adaptive subcarrier allocation, power control, and power allocation for multiuser frequency division duplex-discrete multitone (FDD-DMT) systems in a Gaussian interference channel. Assuming perfect knowledge of all channel and crosstalk transfer functions, we formulate the problem as an optimization problem to ...

On energy efficient power allocation for power-constrained systems

2014 IEEE 25th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communication (PIMRC), 2014
Recently, the energy efficiency (EE) has become an important factor when designing new wireless communication systems. Due to economic and environmental challenges, new trends and efforts are oriented toward “green” communication especially for energy-constrained applications such as wireless sensors network and cognitive radio. To this end, we analyze

Power Allocation Algorithms of PoE for On-Demand Power Supply

2013 IEEE 37th Annual Computer Software and Applications Conference Workshops, 2013
An on-demand power supply network is proposed in i-Energy project as a method to achieve the goal of powersaving in home. In the on-demand power supply network, power requests of devices are classified by priority of Quality of Life. When each device requires power, the device sends a power request message which contains required power and the priority

Power Allocation in the EU

2023
AbstractAgainst the backdrop of Chapter 2, which looked at the allocation of foreign relations powers in the US, Canada, and Belgium, Chapter 3 explores how these powers are allocated in the EU. The picture that emerges from the analysis is one of a particularly open federal union wherein both levels of governance—the EU and the Member States—can ...

Robustness of Power-Imbalance Allocation Control for Power Systems

2019 IEEE 15th International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2019
We investigate the performance and robustness to noise of a centralized control called Power-Imbalance Allocation Control (PIAC) for secondary frequency control of a power system. The noise affects the frequency measurements and the communications. The impact of the noise on the synchronous state of the system is investigated.

Power Loading and Resource Allocation for Femtocells

2011 IEEE 73rd Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2011
In this paper, we study power loading and resource allocation for OFDM-based femtocell networks. To mitigate the interference to the macrocell from the femtocell, interference constraints have to be applied for power loading in the femtocell. Taking the interference constraints into account, we propose an iterative water filling algorithm to improve ...

Power Allocation for OFDM with Index Modulation

2017 IEEE 85th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2017
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (OFDM-IM) is a newly proposed technique, which achieves significantly improved performance in comparison with classical OFDM by using the indices of active subcarriers to carry additional information bits.

Distributed power allocation for cognitive radio

2007 9th International Symposium on Signal Processing and Its Applications, 2007
In this paper, we investigate the idea of using cognitive radio to reuse locally unused spectrum for communications. We consider a multiband/wideband system with two users in which the primary (licensed) user and the secondary (cognitive) user wish to communicate to the base station, subject to mutual interference.

Allocating Power to Lossy-Forward Relays

IEEE Communications Letters, 2018
Recently, a simple and efficient policy was proposed to allocate power among an arbitrary number of lossy-forward relays operating over Rayleigh fading channels. It is arguable, however, that a policy used in one fading scenario will equally perform in another.

On a Power Allocation Method for IDMA Systems

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2008
A method was proposed in this journal (vol. 6, no. 1, pp. 192-201, 2007), which tackles a power allocation problem for interleave-division multiple-access (IDMA) systems over fading channels. In this paper, we show that the method may not provide valid solutions in some situations. We illustrate this with many numerical examples.
