Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Performance Enhancement of TiZO Thin Film Transistors by Introducing a Thin ITO Interlayer

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2019
In order to explore the influence of interlayer between dielectric layer and channel layer on performance of thin film transistors (TFTs), the single layer titanium doped zinc oxide (TiZO) TFTs and the dual layer indium tin oxide (ITO)/TiZO TFTs were ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Development of a power model for large wave gear toothing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2019
Introduction. The development of computational-and-experimental methods for evaluating the force distribution pattern across the width of the toothed rim and in the circumferential direction of the toothing of a large wave gear is considered.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Wheeled Vehicle Motion Control Based on Measuring and Analysis of Force Factors

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2012
The paper gives theoretical justification of the ways to measure actual braking torque of the wheels with the bearing face for drum and disk brakes which are necessary for creating automated brake control systems for vehicles based on load design.

Generalized power method for sparse principal component analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we develop a new approach to sparse principal component analysis (sparse PCA). We propose two single-unit and two block optimization formulations of the sparse PCA problem, aimed at extracting a single sparse dominant principal component of
