Peak-Zero-DPWM for Improving Performance of Single-Phase Five-Level T-Type NPC Inverter

open access: yesIEEE Access
The discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM) improves the efficiency and reliability of power devices by reducing the switching losses. However, it aggravates the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of outputs and the reliability of DC-link capacitors ...

Liquid Phase Transmission Electron Microscopy: A Window into the Early Stages of Complex Material Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid‐phase transmission electron microscopy enables direct observation of nucleation and growth processes in solution. This review is dedicated to the remembrance of Helmut Cölfen and highlights recent studies on complex materials—oxides, biominerals, organic–inorganic crystals—which were central to his research activity. It summarizes key milestones,

EMI Reduction in Grid-Connected Converters Using the Nonlinear Behavior of Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
In soft switching power converters, placing a capacitor parallel to the switching semiconductor power devices is a means to reduce electromagnetic interference. This paper investigates the application of multi-layer ceramic capacitors, MLCCs, as parallel

Enhanced Terahertz Thermoelectricity Via Engineered Van Hove Singularities and Nernst Effect in Moiré Superlattices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Moiré band engineering in graphene/hexagonal boron nitride–based superlattices unlocks van Hove singularities (VHSs) for terahertz (THz) optoelectronics. Tuning the Fermi level near these singularities, associated with secondary neutrality points (SNPs), enhances the photothermoelectric response.

Development of Discrete Power Supply with Charge Pump Method for High Powered Sonar System

open access: yesJournal of Mechatronics, Electrical Power, and Vehicular Technology, 2012
Power supply is one of the electronic devices that can provide electric energy for electronic systems or other systems. There are several types of power supplies that can be applied depend on the requirement and functions. One example is the use of power

Super-capacitor/lead acid battery hybrid energy storage suitable for remote area power supply (raps) systems.

open access: yes, 2010
This paper presents the results of simulations based on real load data collected from a RAPS system in the south west of Western Australia. The load data was collected at a rate of one sample per second to capture the transient changes.

Mechanical Behavior and Fracture Mechanisms of MXene/PVDF Nanocomponsites: In Situ Characterization and Multiscale Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...

High-Power Density Capacitive Coupler for Power Transfer System in Miniaturized Rotary Application

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
To realize a high-power density capacitive coupler for miniaturized rotary application, a parameter design method is proposed in this article. Since a capacitive coupler is composed of metal plates and external capacitors, limitations include two parts ...

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.
