Comparison of DC linear and non-linear models for multi-terminal VSC HVDC networks

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The analysis and control design of multi-terminal VSC-HVDC systems requires a linearised model of these inherently non-linear systems. This paper develops such a model, from converter to multi-terminal system, discusses the key concepts and shows its use

Research and Development of Nondestructive Detection Technology for Wind Turbine Blades

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2023
In addition to withstanding aerodynamic forces, blades also experience other forces such as gravity and centrifugal force during operation, as well as damage from rain, snow, sand, salt spray, lightning and other factors, making the wind turbine blade ...

Thermodynamic Bound on Heat-to-Power Conversion [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
In systems described by the scattering theory, there is an upper bound, lower than Carnot, on the efficiency of steady-state heat to work conversion at a given output power. We show that interacting systems can overcome such bound and saturate, in the thermodynamic limit, the much more favorable linear-response bound.
