Quantitative stability analysis of STATCOM in voltage control mode and Enhanced control method based on voltage feedforward

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
STATCOM is a crucial device for reactive power compensation and voltage regulation. However, under weak grid conditions, oscillations may arise during voltage control (VC) mode operation due to the AC Voltage Controller (AVC), potentially jeopardizing ...

Advances in Power-to-Gas Technologies: Cost and Conversion Efficiency

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
This paper examines the cost and efficiency dynamics of three prevalent Power-to-Gas technologies. Our results suggest that electrolytic hydrogen production costs will approach but not reach the U.S. Department of Energy's $1.0/kg target by 2030.

Potentialities of TEC topping: A simplified view of parametric effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
An examination of the benefits of thermionic-energy-conversion (TEC)-topped power plants and methods of increasing conversion efficiency are discussed. Reductions in the cost of TEC modules yield direct decreases in the cost of electricity (COE) from TEC-

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
