The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

State Estimation in Power Distribution Systems Based on Ensemble Kalman Filtering [PDF]
In this paper, a past-aware state estimation (PASE) method (for static state estimation) is proposed for power distribution systems, which takes previous estimates into account to improve the accuracy of the current one, using an Ensemble Kalman Filter ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Locating the Source of Events in Power Distribution Systems Using Micro-PMU Data
A novel method is proposed to locate the source of events in power distribution systems by using distribution-level phasor measurement units, a.k.a., micro-PMUs.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Alpha-power power distribution
Background & Aim: Due to the applicability of the statistical distributions in many areas of sciences, adding parameters to an existing distribution for developing more flexible models have been overlooked in the statistical literatures. Methods & Materials: A new generalization of power distribution is proposed using alpha power transformation method.

Multi-Input Switched-Capacitor Multilevel Inverter for High-Frequency AC Power Distribution
This paper proposes a switched-capacitor multilevel inverter for high-frequency ac power distribution systems. The proposed topology produces a staircase waveform with higher number of output levels employing fewer components compared to several existing
