Power-system engineering problems with reference to the use of digital computers

Proceedings of the IEE - Part B: Radio and Electronic Engineering, 1956
The paper is addressed primarily to those power-system engineers who are interested in the possible applications to their work of high-speed digital computers. Flow diagrams and such technical details are not given in the text, since the methods of solution for the three problems specifically mentioned are already standard mathematical routines arising

Application of Soft Computing Techniques in Power Engineering

2016
A discharge estimator is designed and analyzed in this chapter to estimate the discharge with voltage, frequency and current without prior knowledge of head. A control of discharge in submersible pump is achieved by varying the motor speed. In VSI fed induction motor the speed is varied by varying the switching frequency.

C-XSC: A powerful environment for reliable computations in the natural and engineering sciences

2011 4th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI), 2011
In recent years the C++ class library C-XSC (library for eXtended Scientific Computing) has been supplemented by several additional software packages. Most recently, a package allowing arbitrary precision interval computations has been added. In this note we present the most important features of C-XSC and its supplements. The tools allow very powerful

The use of the personal computer in power engineering education at Auburn University

1993 (25th) Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2002
Graphical user interface software developed at Auburn University is discussed. The power systems software ranges from the typical steady-state analysis algorithms for power flow and fault calculations to the dynamic analysis of rotating machines. In various forms, this software is utilized in the classroom, the laboratories, and as a supplement to out ...

Computer aided power flow software engineering and code generation

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1996
In this paper a software engineering concept is described which permits the automatic solution of a nonlinear set of network equations. The power flow equation set can be seen as a defined subset of a network equation set. The automated solution process is the numerical Newton-Raphson solution process of the power flow equations where the key code ...
