Dynast – Computer Program Used in Power Engineering
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013There are relatively insufficient quality specialized modeling tools for power engineering. Regardless there are few possibilities how to simulate main elements of electric network and systems consisting of them. Beside most used specialized tool EMTP-ATP there is MATLAB with its Simulink library SimPowerSystems and newly also DYNAST with its own ...

Computer aided protective engineering for industrial power system
TENCON '91. Region 10 International Conference on EC3-Energy, Computer, Communication and Control Systems, 2005Well co-ordinated protective relaying enhances the reliability of large Induestrial Power Systems which may be quite complex with inplant captive power generation operating in parallel with utility grid. The task of protection co-ordination with time graded overcurrent protective relays of various characteristics can be simplified with application of ...

Powerful Heuristics and Basis Selection Bring Computational Homology to Engineers
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2011With heuristics, computational homology is able to extract the bases of homology spaces of a domain covered with a cellular mesh with an acceptable efficiency. In this paper, methods for homology basis selection within the modeling software are discussed.

Teaching Low-Power Electronic Design in Electrical and Computer Engineering
IEEE Transactions on Education, 2005Because of the continuous scaling of feature size and the increasing demand of mobile communication devices, power dissipation has become a major concern of integrated circuit design. Students in electrical and computer engineering will find it very helpful to learn low-power circuit design techniques before they enter the workforce.

Computer aids in power system engineering
Computer-Aided Engineering Journal, 1988CAE is used extensively in power systems to plan, design and operate generators, transmission circuits and sub-stations. This tutorial paper describes CAE methods for steady-state, transient and dynamic calculations, and shows that the use of computing systems and dedicated microprocessors is important in controlling and protecting all types of system.
