We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Power system reliability enhancement by using PowerformerTM [PDF]
A high-voltage generator PowerformerTM is a new generation of the AC generators. The most significant advantages of these PowerformerTM are their direct connection to high-voltage grid, higher availability, and more reactive power margin, short term ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

fEEG contrast enhancement: power law transformation vs intuitionistic fuzzy set
This work focused on contrast enhancement of Flat Electroencephalography (fEEG) image by using Power Law Transformation (PLT) and Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set (IFS). PLT is a classical method whereas the IFS is an advanced fuzzy approach.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Improve the quality of 1060Al/Q235 explosive composite plate by friction stir processing
The common aluminum/steel composite plates made by explosive welding often have steel cuttings, holes, cracks and other defects at the interface, which make the component premature failure.
