Analysis of Financial Penalties for Low Power Factor in Distribution Systems With High Penetration of Photovoltaics

open access: yesIEEE Access
Several countries have encouraged the installation of photovoltaic (PV) systems in urban areas to contribute to the decarbonization goals of the electric power system. At the same time, consumers have adopted PV systems to reduce their electricity bills.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Improving Circuit and Transformer Complexity for 24-Pulse AC-DC Converter Topology

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a novel three-phase 24-pulse diode converter topology derived from cascading two 12-pulse rectifiers. Unlike existing designs that use multi-tap Interphase Reactors (IPR) or transformers, our configuration eliminates the need for ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Performance Comparison of Permanent Magnet Vernier Motors and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

open access: yesMachines
Nowadays, motor type plays a significant role in the vehicle performances. This article compares various types of permanent magnet vernier motors (PMVMs) with different shapes of field modulation teeth and different numbers of field modulation poles ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.
