Review of FACTS technologies and applications for accelerating penetration of wind energies in the power system

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2023
Conventional energy resource problems made power system planners apply more renewable energy sources (RESs) in the power system. RESs have a significant impact on fulfilling the world's energy demand, protecting the environment at least in the ...

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Double layer optimal power flow control strategy of transmission section based on positive and negative comprehensive sensitivity

open access: yes电力工程技术, 2023
Fault trip of overload line transfers the power flow to other lines in the associated transmission section, which results in interlocking tripping accident.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Hybrid Fuzzy PI-Control Scheme for Quasi Multi-Pulse Interline Power Flow Controllers Including the P-Q Decoupling Feature

open access: yes, 2012
Real and reactive power flows on a transmission line interact inherently. This situation degrades power flow controller performance when independent real and reactive power flow regulation is required.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Power management and power flow control with back-to-back converters in a utility connected microgrid

open access: yes, 2009
This paper proposes a method for power flow control between utility and microgrid through back-to-back converters, which facilitates desired real and reactive power flow between utility and microgrid.

Experimental study on the heat transfer performance of vapor chamber with uniform/gradient wicks

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
The balance of the combined effect of wick permeability and capillary pressure is very important to improve the heat transfer capability of the vapor chamber (VC).

Power Flow Control of a Thin Plate.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1992
This paper deals with the active control of power flow of a vibrating plate. It is the purpose of this paper to present a wave control method for suppressing vibration of a distributed parameter system such as a beam or a plate. Unlike a conventional modal-based control method, this method has the potential to suppress all vibration modes of a ...
