Experimental Study of the Summation of Flicker Caused by Wind Turbines
Integration of wind energy into the grid faces a great challenge regarding power quality. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 61400-21 standard defines the electrical characteristics that need to be assessed in a Wind Turbine (WT), as ...

ABSTRACT Background Animal‐assisted activities (AAAs) with therapy dogs have shown positive effects on patient well‐being and quality of life in various areas of medicine, including pediatric oncology. However, research on this topic is limited. The aim of this study is to present the current status of AAA in pediatric oncology in Germany, Austria, and

On the origin of power-law tails in price fluctuations [PDF]
In a recent Nature paper, Gabaix et al. \cite{Gabaix03} presented a theory to explain the power law tail of price fluctuations. The main points of their theory are that volume fluctuations, which have a power law tail with exponent roughly -1.5, are modulated by the average market impact function, which describes the response of prices to transactions.

ABSTRACT Background Embryonal tumors comprise the majority of malignant central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms diagnosed in children under 3 years of age. Compared with their counterparts in older children, these tumors exhibit distinct molecular biology and a more aggressive clinical phenotype, while their management is complicated by the heightened ...

Impact of Power Fluctuations on Frequency Quality
This paper analyzes how power injections affect frequency quality in power systems. We first derive a general expression linking active and reactive power injections at buses to the system's frequency. This formulation explicitly considers both real and imaginary frequency components, providing a complete description of frequency behavior in power ...
