Solar Power Generation System With Power Smoothing Function

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The output power from a solar power generation system (SPGS) changes significantly because of environmental factors, which affects the stability and reliability of a power distribution system. This study proposes a SPGS with the power smoothing function.

Mileage-Responsive Wind Power Smoothing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2020
This paper proposes a novel wind power smoothing control paradigm in context of performance-based regulation service. Conventional methods aim at adjusting wind power output using hard-coded filtering algorithms that can result in visually smoothed power output with unmeasurable impacts on system generation-demand balance.

An improved fuzzy logic based DC-link voltage control strategy for smoothing output power of the PMSG-WECS

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
Direct power smoothing control methods relying on the wind turbine itself have been widely studied to improve wind turbines’ output power quality, and the DC-link voltage control based on the capacitor of the wind power converter is one of them.

A Power Smoothing Control Strategy and Optimized Allocation of Battery Capacity Based on Hybrid Storage Energy Technology

open access: yesEnergies, 2012
Wind power parallel operation is an effective way to realize the large scale use of wind power, but the fluctuations of power output from wind power units may have great influence on power quality, hence a new method of power smoothing and capacity ...

Smoothness Parameter of Power of Euclidean Norm [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 2020
AbstractIn this paper, we study derivatives of powers of Euclidean norm. We prove their Hölder continuity and establish explicit expressions for the corresponding constants. We show that these constants are optimal for odd derivatives and at most two times suboptimal for the even ones.

Solar Power Smoothing in a Nanogrid Testbed

open access: yes2022 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D), 2022
High penetration of solar power introduces new challenges in the operation of distribution systems. Considering the highly volatile nature of solar power output due to changes in cloud coverage, maintaining the power balance and operating within ramp rate limits can be an issue.

Coordination of Generators and Energy Storage to Smooth Power Fluctuations for Multi-Area Microgrid Clusters: A Robust Decentralized Approach

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper addresses frequency deviation and tie-line power fluctuation in the islanded multi-area microgrid clusters (MMGCs). In the islanded MMGCs, the uncertain and varying nature of energy provided by renewable energy resources makes the issues of ...
