An improved fuzzy logic based DC-link voltage control strategy for smoothing output power of the PMSG-WECS

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
Direct power smoothing control methods relying on the wind turbine itself have been widely studied to improve wind turbines’ output power quality, and the DC-link voltage control based on the capacitor of the wind power converter is one of them.

Power of the Neyman smooth tests for the uniform distribution [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics and Decision Sciences, 2001
This paper compares and investigates the generalised Neyman smooth test, its components, and the classical chi-squared test with a variety of equiprobable classes. Each test is evaluated in terms of its power to reject a wavelike alternative to the uniform distribution, chosen to quantify the complexity of the alternative.

Quantitative Evaluation Methods of Cluster Wind Power Output Volatility and Source-Load Timing Matching in Regional Power Grid

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The quantitative evaluation of cluster wind power output volatility and source-load timing matching is vital to the planning and operation of the future power system dominated by new energy.

Moving Regression Filtering With Battery State of Charge Feedback Control for Solar PV Firming and Ramp Rate Curtailment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The surge in energy demand needs to be met with environmentally pleasant resources to reduce the production of greenhouse gases. Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power is a widespread choice as it is accessible in plenty and is comparatively inexpensive. However,

Beneficial role of diurnal smoothing for grid integration of wind power

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2023
Smoothing of generation variability, i.e. reduction of variance in the aggregate generation is crucial for grid integration of large-scale wind power plants. Prior studies of smoothing have focused on geographical smoothing, based on distance.

Output Power Smoothing Control for a Wind Farm Based on the Allocation of Wind Turbines

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
This paper presents a new output power smoothing control strategy for a wind farm based on the allocation of wind turbines. The wind turbines in the wind farm are divided into control wind turbines (CWT) and power wind turbines (PWT), separately.

Intelligent PV Power Smoothing Control Using Probabilistic Fuzzy Neural Network with Asymmetric Membership Function

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2017
An intelligent PV power smoothing control using probabilistic fuzzy neural network with asymmetric membership function (PFNN-AMF) is proposed in this study. First, a photovoltaic (PV) power plant with a battery energy storage system (BESS) is introduced.

A robust anisotropic diffusion filter with low arithmetic complexity for images

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2019
Image smoothing with edge preservation in the presence of outliers is a challenge in image processing. Anisotropic diffusion smoothing is a well-established paradigm in digital image smoothing with edge preservation.

Uniform bounds and symbolic powers on smooth varieties [PDF]

open access: yesInventiones Mathematicae, 2001
We show how multiplier ideals can be used to obtain uniform multiplicative bounds for certain families of ideals on a smooth complex algebraic variety. In particular we prove a quick but rather surprising result about symbolic powers of radical ideals on such a variety.
