Harmonic elimination of a fifteen‐level inverter with reduced number of switches using genetic algorithm

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, EarlyView., 2023
This article presents a Fifteen‐level inverter topology that has a lesser number of switches (12) and can accommodate isolated DC sources. The total harmonic elimination (THD) of the proposed topology using genetic algorithm is within the IEEE 519 standards. Further, the fifteen‐level inverter is implemented in Hardware and firing pulses were generated

Setup for measuring and simulating high-frequency overvoltages of power transformer

open access: yes2019 2nd International Colloquium on Smart Grid Metrology (SMAGRIMET), 2019
During their operation, power transformers are stressed by switching and lightning overvoltages. Transformers that are extensively exposed to these stresses are usually equipped with transformer monitoring system which enables assessing the transformer’s condition at any given time.

Resonance overvoltage control algorithms in long cable frequency conversion drive based on discrete mathematics

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2020
In order to solve the problem that the long cable variable voltage and variable frequency (VVVF) system does not adopt an effective capacitor voltage sharing control method, resulting in a poor effect of resonance overvoltage control, the resonance ...

Introducing small storage capacity at residential PV installations to prevent overvoltages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Low voltage distribution feeders are designed for unidirectional energy supply from transformer to consumer. However, the implementation of small-scale PV production units on local utilities may result in bidirectional energy flows.
