POWER GENERATION CONTROL USING DUAL-MODE CONTROL

Electric Machines & Power Systems, 1984
Abstract Dual-mode control is applied to the problem of power generation control. The proposed controller is simple in structure and easily implementable. The effect of changes in some important system parameters like self-regulation parameter, turbine time constant and generation rate constraints, on the dynamic performance of the system for reheat ...

PSS CONTROLLER FOR WIND POWER GENERATION SYSTEMS

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2012
Small signal stability analysis for power systems with wind farm interaction is presented. Power systems oscillation modes can be excited by disturbance or fault in the grid. Variable speed wind turbines can be regulated to reduce these oscillations, stabilising the power system.

Control of gas turbines for power generation

Electrical Engineering, 1950
THE DEVELOPMENT of the combustion gas turbine as a new type of prime mover for power generation has required the parallel development of suitable controls. The control being used at present on General Electric gas turbines provides for semiautomatic starting and stopping of the unit for speed and load control and for protection of the unit under ...

Automatic Generation Control using Interline Power Flow Controller

2009 2nd International Conference on Power Electronics and Intelligent Transportation System (PEITS), 2009
The Interline Power Flow Controller (IPFC) among the Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) is one of the most versatile devices, especially for power flow control of multiline systems. This paper presents a new utilization of IPFC in power systems. In this paper, IPFC is used as an Automatic Generation Control (AGC).

Power Generation Control of OWC Using Airflow Control

2020
In this chapter, the airflow control scheme for output power control of the OWC plant is presented. The control valves are used to regulate the airflow inside the OWC chamber. Several studies have discussed the airflow control techniques in the past three decades, e.g. Falcao and Justino (1999a), Falcao et al. (2003, 2010a), Amundarain et al.

Power system controllability through nontraditional generation

2016 IEEE 55th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2016
Power system electromechanical oscillation dynamics can be described using second-order consensus dynamics. The synchronizing torques that hold the machines together are determined by the Laplacian matrix of the consensus dynamics. This paper develops a framework to investigate the effect of connecting nontraditional generation (NTG), in the form of ...

Noise Control of Emergency Power Generating Equipment

American Industrial Hygiene Association Journal, 1969
Abstract This paper summarizes and evaluates methods of acoustically treating standby power equipment. Applicable noise control criteria are briefly discussed. Noise sources are identified and related to receivers. Ten remedial steps are evaluated, including duct design, absorptive linings, acoustical enclosures, blockage of secondary air paths, and ...

Impedance Control of Gyroscopic Power Generator

Volume 7: Dynamic Systems and Control; Mechatronics and Intelligent Machines, Parts A and B, 2011
The gyroscopic power generator produces a high-speed rotation of magnets from low-frequency vibrations and supplies electric power to information and communication devices that use human vibrations in daily life. In this paper, in order to increase the stability and the output power of the generator, a simple equation that indicates the steady state ...
