Summary: We define a new graph operation called the \(k\)th inner power. The construction-which is somewhat analogous to the \(k\)th power with respect to the direct product-seems to lend itself nicely to certain questions concerning cancellation over the direct product.

A Method for Testing Graph Visualizations Using Games [PDF]
We describe a system that enables us to perform exploratory empirical experiments with graph visualization techniques by incorporating them into games that can be played on an internet site, the Graph Games Website (http://www.cs.kent.ac.uk/projects ...

Average Degree in Graph Powers [PDF]
AbstractThe kth power of a simple graph G, denoted by , is the graph with vertex set where two vertices are adjacent if they are within distance k in G. We are interested in finding lower bounds on the average degree of . Here we prove that if G is connected with minimum degree and , then G4 has average degree at least .
