The power word problem in graph groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis studies the complexity of the power word problem in graph groups. The power word problem is a variant of the word problem, where the input is a power word. A power word is a compact representation of a word. It may contain powers p^x, where p

Real Quadratic-Form-Based Graph Pooling for Graph Neural Networks

open access: yesMachine Learning and Knowledge Extraction, 2022
Graph neural networks (GNNs) have developed rapidly in recent years because they can work over non-Euclidean data and possess promising prediction power in many real-word applications.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

SHACL-Based Validation Method of Knowledge Graph for Power System Model

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2022
With the expansion of the power grid and the high penetration of distributed energy resources, the power system analysis and decision-making have put forward higher requirements for comprehensive and accurate power grid models.

On colorings of graph powers

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 2009
In this paper, some results concerning the colorings of graph powers are presented. The notion of helical graphs is introduced. We show that such graphs are hom-universal with respect to high odd-girth graphs whose $(2t+1)$st power is bounded by a Kneser graph. Also, we consider the problem of existence of homomorphism to odd cycles. We prove that such

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...
