Asymptotic Behaviour and Existence of Similarity Solutions for a Boundary Layer Flow Problem

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2019
The problem of boundary layer flow of a non-Newtonian power-law fluid (which is assumed to be incompressible) is considered. Existence and uniqueness of similarity solutions are considered for all values of the power-law index $n>0$.

Inevitable inflation in Einstein-Cartan theory with improved energy-momentum tensor with spin [PDF]

open access: yes
Generalized, or power-law, inflation is shown to necessarily exist for a simple, anisotropic, (Bianchi Type-1) cosmology in the Einstein-Cartan gravitational theory with the Ray-Smalley improved energy momentum tensor with spin. Formal solution of the EC

Hybrid Nanofibers for Multimodal Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Fabrication of wound healing scaffolds based on biocompatible nanofibers. Nanofibers offering high surface area, flexibility, and biocompatibility significantly improved the healing outcome in vivo. Histological, immunological, and anti‐inflammatory markers are noticeably better in treated wounds.

Sublinear drag regime at mesoscopic scales in viscoelastic materials.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Stressed soft materials commonly present viscoelastic signatures in the form of power-law or exponential decay. Although exponential responses are the most common, power-law time dependencies arise peculiarly in complex soft materials such as living ...

Human Brain Vasculature‐on‐a‐Chip Model Constructed With Microvessels Isolated From Cryopreserved Postmortem Human Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This manuscript describes the cultivation of viable microvessels from cryopreserved human brain tissue. When embedded in hydrogels and cultured in microfluidic devices, these microvessels exhibit complex architectures reminiscent of arterioles and capillaries, can be perfused, and display intact barrier function. Collectively, these results demonstrate

Peptomer Linkers Enable Kinetic Control over Co‐Delivery of Multiple Chemotherapeutics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A key challenge in combinatorial chemotherapeutic drug delivery is independent control over release kinetics, especially with drugs of similar size and structure. Here, peptoid substitutions to proteolytically degradable peptides enabled the design of fast and slow‐releasing drug linkers.

Tunable Bioresorbable Scaffolds With Marine Sulfated Polysaccharides for Small‐Caliber Vascular Grafts: A Multi‐Layered Strategy Combining Electrospinning and 4‐Axis Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multilayered small‐caliber vascular scaffold combining electrospinning and 4‐axis printing is developed and biofunctionalized with marine sulfated polysaccharides from Holothuria tubulosa. The resulting construct exhibits enhanced hemocompatibility, tunable mechanical properties, and supports endothelial and smooth muscle cell adhesion and ...
