Double Diffusive Natural Convection in a Square Cavity Filled with a Porous Media and a Power Law Fluid Separated by a Wavy Interface

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This study deals with the influence of a wavy interface separating two layers filled with power law fluid and porous media, respectively. The governing equations are solved using the Finite Element Method (FEM) and the numerical model is validated by ...

Penetration Grouting Mechanism of Time-Dependent Power-Law Fluid for Reinforcing Loose Gravel Soil

open access: yesMinerals, 2021
The time-dependent behavior of power-law fluid has a significant influence on the grouting effects of reinforcing loose gravel soil. In this paper, based on basic rheological equations and the time-dependent behavior of rheological parameters ...

Research and Application of Cold Productivity Formula of Horizontal Well in the Power-Law Fluid Heavy Oil Reservoir

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2021
Considering the rheological properties of fluid, reservoir heterogeneity, and eccentricity factor, the productivity formula of horizontal well for the power-law fluid heavy oil reservoir is derived by transforming the three-dimensional seepage problem ...

Drilling fluid loss model and loss dynamic behavior in fractured formations

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2014
In view of the lost circulation in fractured formations, a two-dimensional transient model for describing a power-law drilling fluid loss in an arbitrarily-oriented, compressible, permeable, rough-walled fracture was introduced.

A classification of scalar field potentials with cosmological scaling solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
An attractive method of obtaining an effective cosmological constant at the present epoch is through the potential energy of a scalar field. Considering models with a perfect fluid and a scalar field, we classify all potentials for which the scalar field

Corner Flow of Power Law Fluids [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Rheology, 1989
A local analysis of the flow of power law fluids near corners is performed. The equation for the stream function is shown to allow separated solutions in plane polar coordinates. The radial behavior is shown to be algebraic and results are given for the exponent for different values of corner angle and power law exponent.
