Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Comparative Analysis of Power Losses in the Single-Flow LS-Systems with Pump and Valve Configuration

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов, 2018
The power losses in the single-flow hydraulic LS-systems with a pump configuration (using the variable displacement LS-pump) and with a valve configuration (using the fixed displacement pump) are investigated.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Minimizing Power Loss Using Modified Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Computing Research and Innovation, 2021
Electrical energy losses are found in any part of the power system. In the power system, it is essential to minimize the real power loss in transmission lines.

Aphasia and psychiatric disturbances in cerebrovascular accident patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Aphasia is a condition in which there is a defect or loss of the power of expression by speech, writing, or signs, or a defect of loss of the power of comprehension of spoken or written language.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

The cost of market power in banking: social welfare loss vs. inefficiency cost [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyses the relationship between market power in the loan and deposit markets and efficiency in the EU15 countries over 1993-2002. Results show the existence of a positive relationship between market power and cost X-efficiency, allowing ...

Modelling of Power Loss in Electrical Steels

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2008
This paper presents a new artificial neural network approach based on loss separation model to compute power loss on different types of electrical steels. The network was trained by a Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. The results obtained by using the proposed model were compared with a commonly used conventional model.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...
