Loss Power Minimization Using Particle Swarm Optimization
The 2006 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Network Proceedings, 2006This paper presents a particle swarm optimization (PSO) as an efficient approach for loss reduction study. This issue can be formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem. The proposed approach employs the PSO algorithm for optimal setting of optimal power flow (OPF) based on loss minimization (LM) function.

Minimizing asymmetric loss in medium-term wind power forecasting
Renewable Energy, 2015Abstract In this article we propose a new wind power forecasting model that does not focus on providing the most precise forecasts, but minimizes the financial loss of forecasting impreciseness. We show that the loss function is asymmetric and therefore account for asymmetry during the estimation stage of our model.
