150-Watt Power-over-Fiber Feed for Bidirectional Radio-over-Fiber Systems Using a Double-Clad Fiber

Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2019, 2019
We experimentally demonstrate bidirectional radio-over-fiber transmission with 150-W power-over-fiber feed using a double-clad fiber for optically powered remote antenna units. We successfully achieve good signal transmission performances under the high power optical feeding.

Power over fiber development for HEP detectors

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment
Power-over-Fiber (PoF) technology has been used extensively in settings where high voltages require isolation from ground and electromagnetic isolation is critical. In cryogenic environments, PoF offers a reliable power transmission technology, leveraging optical fibers to transfer power with minimal system degradation.

Fiber-wireless sensor system based on a power-over-fiber technique

Optical Engineering, 2015
A fiber-wireless sensor system based on a power-over-fiber technique is developed to offer a flexible, distributed sensing ability over a middle distance, especially under environments that are sensitive to electromagnetic interference. In this system, the optical energy of a high-power laser in the base station is transmitted via a fiber and then ...

Over 1-km Power-over-Fiber Using a Double-Clad Fiber for Bidirectional RoF Systems

2018 23rd Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC), 2018
We experimentally demonstrate 1-km radio-over-fiber transmission under 60-W power-over-fiber using a double-clad fiber. The result shows that the down/uplink transmitted signals have negligible error-vector magnitude penalties to the back-to-back signal.

The time-domain E-field probe using RF-over-fiber and power-over-fiber technology

2016 Asia-Pacific International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (APEMC), 2016
A time-domain E-field probe is proposed in this study. It detects E-fields in single polarization between 0.6 to 2.6 GHz. For the sake of RF transparency, optical fiber is used to replace coaxial cable to transmit the signal from the transmitter to receiver. Thus, RF-over-Fiber (RoF) technology is applied for signal transmission.

Optimizing power efficiency in radio-over-fiber systems

2013 IEEE Photonics Conference, 2013
Fiber-fed radio pico-cells topologies can reduce the overall power consumption of wireless communication networks. Joint optimization of fiber and radio network parts yields an optimum number of pico-cells which minimizes power consumption.
