The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Grating couplers with an integrated power splitter for high-intensity optical power distribution [PDF]
In this letter, we present a fiber grating coupler with an integrated 16-way power splitter. The incoming light from the fiber is split immediately over 16 channels, and therefore, the total optical power is never confined in a single waveguide.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Photonic Microwave Up-Conversion Link With Compensation of Chromatic Dispersion-Induced Power Fading
An effective scheme of frequency doubling up-conversion is proposed and demonstrated, which achieves the generation of high-frequency microwave signal and the compensation of chromatic dispersion-induced power fading (CDIPF).

Multi-Channel Long-Distance Audio Transmission System Using Power-over-Fiber Technology
To establish stable communication networks in harsh environments where power supply is difficult, such as coal mines and underwater, we propose an effective scheme for co-transmission of analog audio signals and energy.

Radio-over-fiber using an optical antenna based on Rydberg states of atoms
We provide an experimental demonstration of a direct fiber-optic link for RF transmission ("radio-over-fiber") using a sensitive optical antenna based on a rubidium vapor cell.

480Mbit/s UWB bi-directional radio over fiber CWDM PON using ultra-low cost and power VCSELs [PDF]
Radio-over-fiber (RoF) schemes offer the possibility of permitting direct access to native format services for the domestic user. A low power requirement and cost effectiveness are crucial to both the service provider and the end user.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
