Empirical EV Load Model for Distribution Network Analysis

open access: yesEnergies
Electric vehicles (EVs) have introduced new operational challenges for distribution network service providers (DNSPs), particularly for voltage regulation due to unpredictable charging behaviour and the intermittent nature of distributed energy resources

Cooperative Control of Microgrids: A Review of Theoretical Frameworks, Applications and Recent Developments

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The development of cooperative control strategies for microgrids has become an area of increasing research interest in recent years, often a result of advances in other areas of control theory such as multi-agent systems and enabled by rapid advances in ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Characterising Non-Intentional Supraharmonic Emissions from Inverters in Power Grids: Review and Challenges

open access: yesEnergies
Supraharmonic emissions, referred to as voltage/current waveform distortions in the 2–150 kHz range, have been identified as an emerging power quality concern.

Buyer Power and Quality Improvement [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2006
This paper analyses the sources of buyer power and its expect on sellers investment. We show that a retailer extracts a larger surplus from the negotiation with an upstream manufacturer the more it is essential to the creation of total surplus. In turn, this depends on the rivalry between retailers in the bargaining process.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Identification of composite power quality disturbances based on relative position matrix

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
With the integration of large-scale nonlinear loads and distributed power sources into the grid, composite power quality disturbances (PQDs) events are becoming increasingly common, which significantly degrade the quality of power supply. Therefore, this
