A permutation test for randomness with power against smooth variation

A permutation test for the white noise hypothesis is described, offering power against a general class of smooth alternatives. Simulation results show that it performs well, as compared with similar tests available in the literature, in terms of power.

Power approximations to and power comparison of smooth goodness-of-fit tests

Summary: Global power approximations are presented for smooth goodness-of-fit tests of a simple hypothesis, including e.g. Neyman's tests. The resulting approximation is in terms of a linear combination of non- central chi-squares. A computationally easier further approximation is based on a single non-central chi-square distribution.
