Some aspects of the tunisian power system transient stability
2017 14th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD), 2017This paper exposes some aspects of the Tunisian power system transient stability, drawn from the operational experience of the network. Different types and criteria of stability are considered: angular stability is studied by determining the fault critical clearing time after short circuit faults.

A Unified Scheme for Power System Transient Stability Simulation and Transient Stability Assessment
2019 IEEE 8th International Conference on Advanced Power System Automation and Protection (APAP), 2019Transient stability assessment (TSA) is critical for power system stability analysis and control. Among all efforts to achieve TSA, the transient stability simulation(TSS) plays a fundamental role. In this paper, a unified scheme is proposed for TSS and TSA of numerous power system transient scenarios. The scheme mainly consists of two parts, which are

HTS cables impact on power transient and dynamic stability in power systems
2011 24th Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering(CCECE), 2011Power industry faces new challenges due to fast growing cities, deregulation of power sector in many countries and investments required to meet raising demands. Till now the focus of electricity industry has been on the generation sector; this has left transmission and distribution networks with aged equipment, overload lines, power loss and reduced ...

Transient stability assessment and control system for power system
IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2019This paper addresses the issue of power system transient stability assessment and control (TSA&C) based on phase plane representation of the power angle and rotor speed. First, the relationship between transient stability–instability and concavity–convexity of the phase‐plane trajectory is found and proved based on the single machine infinite bus ...

Transient stability of power systems with different configurations for wind power integration
2013 IEEE PES Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2013Previous transient stability studies investigating the effects of wind power integration into a conventional power system assume the insertion point of the wind-generating units to be at the same bus and interconnection voltage as the synchronous generators they are substituting or complementing.

Influence of Windfarms on Power System Dynamic and Transient Stability
Wind Engineering, 2006The interaction between bulk windfarm generation and conventional generation and its influence on network dynamic characteristics are investigated. A simple three-generator system having characteristics that may be considered representative of the major areas of the UK network is used for the dynamic studies.

UPFC influence to transient stability of power system
2014 ELEKTRO, 2014Large-scale power systems operation is faced with many challenges. One of many criteria, which should be fulfilled are stability criteria. Interconnecting separated power systems into interconnected network results in large system complexity, and therefore mixed influences from one power system to another part.

Sequential transient stability assessment (power system)
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, 1989A sequential approach to the power-system transient stability assessment is presented and discussed. A reliable modified transient stability criterion is proposed. Simplified transient energy function expressions are derived, which enable a significant reduction of the computation time.
