Analysis of Backup Protection Action of a Transformer Caused by Improper Implementation of Voltage Regulation Measures [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2021
It is an effective measure for power enterprises to improve the voltage level of the system by raising and lowering the tap position of the main transformer.

High-frequency transformer winding model with adequate protection

open access: yes, 2023
High local electric field intensity in transformer windings originating from transient signals is one of the reasons for transformer failures. Due to the integration of renewable energy sources into the power grids and the increased number of transients,

Differential Protection Scheme for Power Transformer Protection

open access: yes, 2021
Power transformers are normally protected by differential protection relays. Differential protection is the main protection used for protecting power transformers from internal faults only. External faults have the same effect on the two sets of current transformers used for differential protection.

Improving the Protection of Step-Down Transformers by Utilizing Percentage Differential Protection and Scale-Dependent Intrinsic Entropy

open access: yesEntropy
Transformer operations are susceptible to both internal and external faults. This study primarily employed software to construct a power system simulation model featuring a step-down transformer.

Issues in integrating existing multi-agent systems for power engineering applications

open access: yes, 2005
Multi-agent systems (MAS) have proven to be an effective platform for diagnostic and condition monitoring applications in the power industry. For example, a multi-agent system architecture, entitled condition monitoring multi-agent system (COMMAS ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
