DIRECT FUELCELL/TURBINE POWER PLANT [PDF]
This report summarizes the progress made in development of Direct FuelCell/Turbine{reg_sign} (DFC/T{reg_sign}) power plants for generation of clean power at very high efficiencies. The DFC/T power system is based on an indirectly heated gas turbine to supplement fuel cell generated power.

Oxy-turbine for Power Plant with CO2 Capture
Abstract The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D (IEAGHG) programme contracted Amec Foster Wheeler to perform a study providing an evaluation of the performance and costs of a number of oxy-turbine plants for utility scale power generation with CO2 capture. The main outcomes of the detailed technical and economical modelling of the most promising oxy-turbine ...

Modelling of a wind power turbine [PDF]
Due to the predicted scarcity of the fossil fuels and their adverse effects to the environment, currently renewable energy generation is a major focus of the power and energy sector. Wind energy is one of the potential and rapidly growing sources of green energy. This is particularly due to the cost of the wind energy production has reduced by a factor

DFIG versus PMSG for marine current turbine applications [PDF]
Emerging technologies for marine current turbine are mainly relevant to works that have been carried out on wind turbines and ship propellers. It is then obvious that many electric generator topologies could be used for marine current turbines. As in the

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
