Practical stability and stabilization
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2000Summary: We present a practical stability result for dynamical systems depending on a small parameter. This result is applied to a practical stability analysis of fast time-varying systems studied in averaging theory, and of highly oscillatory systems studied by Sussmann and Liu.

Practical stability and stabilization of hybrid and switched systems
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2004In this paper, practical stability and stabilization problems for hybrid and switched systems are studied. We formally introduce the notions of e-practical stability and practical stabilizability. The main results of the paper include a direct method for the e-practical stability analysis of hybrid systems and sufficient conditions for the practical ...

Stability of Attendance in General Practice
Family Practice, 1994Data on the attendances of all patients at three general practices in Western Australia for two 6-month periods 11 months apart were collected as part of a previous study. The present study examined the stability of the attendance patterns of the patients over the two study periods in terms of number of patients, number of visits and diagnoses.

On practical stability of switched systems
Proceedings of the 41st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002., 2003In practice, one is not only interested in the qualitative characterizations provided by Lyapunov stability, but also in quantitative information concerning system behavior, including estimates of trajectory bounds, possibly over finite time intervals.

Practical stability and stabilization of linear systems
2009 17th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2009In this paper practical stability and stabilization of linear continuous systems, modeled in state space and subject to state norm constraints, are considered. First, we provide condition for practical stability using the norm of the transition matrix.

In this paper, a class of non-linear non-autonomous systems with multiple non-linearities is considered. Sufficient conditions are developed for a type of practical stability with specified settling time. The conditions are independent of the actual Form of the non-linear characteristics so that they can be interpreted as conditions for ‘absolute ...

Practical analysis of the stability of TCP
Proceedings of the 2001 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference. (Cat. No.01TH8568), 2002This paper discusses the stability of TCP. More precisely, the stationary behavior of the congestion window process is analyzed based on the measured real Internet traffic (bulk data transfer, FTP of large files). Appropriate algorithm approximating the actual congestion window is presented, and statistical methods to analyze the data are discussed in ...

Practical Aspects of System Stability
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1926During the past few years there has been much discussion regarding the behavior of long transmission lines under transient conditions, such as flashovers, short circuits, arcs and grounds which would tend to make them unstable, but unfortunately this discussion has been largely theoretical due to the absence of any actual operating data upon which to ...

Practical stability analysis for DNN observation
2008 47th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2008The most important fact for differential neural networks dynamics is related to its weights time evolution. This is a consequence for the higher nonlinear structure describing the matrix differential equations, which are associated with the adaptive capability for this kind of neural networks.
